Cummings grew up on the US / Canada border. She studied acting at the Yale School of Drama and screenwriting at UCLA, AFI, and in Pilar Alessandra’s On-The- Page seminars. She has performed with and produced for several off-Off Broadway theatres, among them La Mama ETC, Manhattan Producers Club, and the Strasberg Institute, as well as the Edinburgh International Festival and Skyboat Road Company. A former writer’s assistant to Dustin Hoffman and Murray Schisgal at Punch Productions, she has written for newspapers, magazines, film, theatre, and television. The DeVivo Variation, co-written with Jonuel Pozo for performer John Coppola, was filmed by HBO, featured at the HBO Workspace, and won two Critic’s Choice Awards and a Drama-Logue Award.

She began writing with Edgar Pablos in 2001, and the two formed Tribesmen Pictures in 2007. They have created over 100 video pieces for institutional, educational, and corporate clients, and their mediation documentaries, The Macdona Collision and Mirasol, have been key components in the successful out-of- court settlement of two major lawsuits.

The two recently finished writing the supernatural thriller, Haunting Beauty, commissioned by indie producer Isabel Echeverry. Next, they will shoot their feature film script The Horse Thief, with Pablos directing, and will then launch CINESTART, a joint project with Javier Chapa’s Texican Media, which will open the door for first-time Latino directors ready to make their first feature film.
